I’m still trying to recover from my noodle-craze week since I found this great hangout place for an afternoon snack in Kerry Parkside. The drill is to drop my little girl in the play center, stay with her for 5 to 10 minutes then leave her with the ayi for a while — so I can run downstairs to the restaurant, find that cozy corner by the large window where I last left a flag claiming my territorial, plant myself on a chair and get my regular noodle fix for the day. It’s either laksa noodle, spicy mee goreng or beef noodle.
The back of the house has been somewhat abandoned for a while. The last time I cook dinner was… hmmmm, few weeks ago? Last time baking ? more like ages ago. After unsuccessfully making cardboard-hard ginger cookie man for Bri’s Thanksgiving party at school – my excuse? didn’t really feel like it so I baked them half-heartedly – managed to push myself to bake this pie.
The pie crust can be tricky, depends on the recipe you have. Mine was not too crumbly, a bit on the hard side even. But the fillings worked great. Pecans fillings. Hubby loves pecans. And myself? I prefer soto ayam ……
So here goes, not too bad, but definitely need to get a good recipe for pie crust. Anyone has one that makes moist, crumbly, buttery and melt in the mouth crust?
For recipe, click here. I adopted it from Joy of Baking.
