It was one cold midnight
and the pale yellow moon hung low in the sky
restless but full of anticipation
knowing instinctively it was almost time

the road was quiet, almost surreal bathed in street lights
in between long breathes and quiet prayers

through the long cold hospital corridors
and more long deeper breathes

suddenly my mind slipped into a strange quietness

wrapped in fuzzy warmth and coziness

another reality took over
cold and almost harsh
push, they told me, push hard
they repeated the same word
again and again
